The Socratic Method

The Socratic Method is a very good way of getting away for the regular teacher- to-students lectures. It gets the students thinking on a deeper level about their statements, and although it might hurt their egos, they are actually learning and thinking about many more things relating to their topic, that they hadn't thought of before. This method also gives the teachers the opportunity to get closer to their students and get to know them personally, not just see them as one of their many students. Using this method, the teacher has to think harder about their lesson and how they could connect with their student, and not just go to work the next day having their agenda look the same for all of their classes. Using the Socratic Method allows students to escape from the traditional boring lectures a makes the feel like they are important when stating their because, they get to defend their opinions and not get a "no" for an answer. A Second Helping of Socratic Seminar

Today in class we had a Socratic Seminar. It was my fist time experiencing one and let me tell you, it was pretty cool although i was sometimes i was confused. I think is was very cool because we talked about love and it was eye opening what my classmates’ thoughts on love were. Here are a couple of notes that I took -We all have abilities, options of our own.  -an opinion shuts down the argument   -a right is something that other people must honor Ex pedestrian has the right to cross the road safely ones persons right creates the other person to have an obligation -one person having an opinion doesn't require the other person to feel anything until they acknowledge it -all of us want to feel connected to the ones who surround us  -limbic area(brain) -governs our emotions -we shift from limbic to  -We need to focus to agree on our tone  -money is only symbolic  if the people  claiming our right to our opinion doesn't gets u...

Welcome :)

Hello! You may be thinking I'm the typical teenager that hates school and just wants to move out as soon as possible. I would say it is nothing like that. In fact, I don't entirely love school, but I am grateful having the opportunity to have an education, but mostly I enjoy attending school for the sports. I play volleyball, wrestling, and track. The best thing about sports is that I get to meet  new people and become really good friends with them. I always try to manage my time and keep up with everything, but sometimes it could really get out of hand. Although I can get very busy I always enjoy spending time with my family. All in all, I guess these are pretty much the key points in my life and hope y'all enjoy my journey!
