Communication Strategies of a Hacker

The "Mentors" use of diction, syntax, and tone effectively convey his message by getting the readers attention. When he uses language relatively used by teenagers, they are more prone to getting interested because they relate to the author. When he talks about feeling like an outlast, again, a lot of teenagers can relate to that and they feel like the author is talking to them directly. Also, the author uses complex, but simple sentences which are easy to understand. Lastly, the author uses repetition to get his message across. He repeats, "They're all alike."  This interests the reader and makes them pay more attention because they know that he is trying to say something by repeating that phrase over and over after every paragraph.
