today's argument

Today in class I started an argument.  I wanted to be persuasive so I used logos.  The topic of the argument was discrimination against Arabs, which are commonly referred as "muslims" \ due to terrorist events that are current and also in the past.  The reason I chose logos was because there are facts and it is logic that Arabs were involved in the 9/11 event that occurred. My classmates argued that the attacks and discrimination is in the past and that Arabs don't really have to face the problem anymore, so I argued that is is still a very big problem for them. Firstly no matter what, there is always going to be something that people don't like, even if it has nothing to do with race, people are still very rude and immature. With Arabs having a not so great reputation, it is inevitable that there won't be any discrimination. This problem is still very prominent these days. Arabs get discriminated by a lot a people even if the people making these remarks don't notice. Many look away or get conservative of their belongings if an Arab comes their way, most of the time they also yell out racial slurs. Our in-class argument was very interesting, it helped me see the different perspectives people have about that particular topic. It was very fun and I put in practice the logos in Ethos Pathos Logos Kiros.
